Funerary sculptures from the Kalash-Kafirs people (Chitral region, Pakistan)

Another kind of statuary tradition very similar to the western Nepal works is the funerary sculptural work  made by the Kalash-Kafirs people in Pakistan.....The  comparison is more evident due to the geographical situation of the Kalash-Kafirs valley situated in the Hindu Kush mountains in north Pakistan....Even, some never proved, theory were constructed on the direct links between the Kalash (Pakistan) and the Khas people from western Nepal.....Maybe one day it will possible to scientificaly proved these links...

To present you these sculptures i will show you some pictures from an article written by Jean-Yves Loude (photos by Hervé Nègre) published in the revue : "Objets et Mondes, la revue du Musée de L'homme" tome 22 fascicule 1, printemps 1982.....

All the pictures presented here are under the copyright of Hervé Nègre and Jean-Yves Loude

Mapuche Sculptures (Peru and Argentina) on Ethnoflorence website

Today i want to redirect you again on the Ethnoflorence website to take a look at the publications focused on the Mapuche people (Peru and Argentina) sculptures.....

The first time I've seen a Mapuche sculpture was at the Royal Museums of Art and History in Brussels.....it was very disturbing because these works look very similar to the western Nepal statuary tradition......So you will understand why I publish it here

A.M.Collection 03

Here's another sculpture from the A.M. collection.........

You will notice that the whiskers are not engraved, but applied with plaster. We can find obvious traces of polychrome.
